Winter Solstice Vision Board

The Winter Solstice/New Year is a
great opportunity to search deep inside of you for what
seeds you would like to plant for your continued
journey. This time of year is fertile ground for creating
anew.
Our culture does not necessarily support quietness
this time of year, but if you get a chance use this time
to connect to your visions of where you would like your
life to go.
On New Year's Eve my wife and I plan on sitting by the
fire, doing a short meditation, then each creating a
collage, choosing any visual that inspires us. We will
then hang our vision boards in a scared part of our
bedroom and
be reminded and guided all year long.
This has been a very powerful practice for us.
When putting your collage together it is important to place any image that inspires you - regardless of what it is. Don't worry about what others' may think (for one thing you certainly don't have to showcase it for all to view) rather choose any image that inspires. And don't let yourself judge what image you may choose - there may be an unconcious connection that can help lift you. Really allow the artist to come out.
You might try to write specific questions on your board - questions that will ultimately be covered by pictures. This helps connect with your intents. Just remember to also write your questions down somewhere else if you ever want to refer to them. But that's usually not necessary - again it's just a way of connecting to the magic that the images will bring you throughout the year.
Another idea I have tried is to subdivide the board into different facets of my life - my relatiionship with my wife, my family, career, hobbies and spiritual practice...or any that you come up with. And how I want those parts of my life to be. Again, looking for inspiration. This creates a container to focus the energy - and gives you a chance to be intentional in all parts of your life.
Have fun, be playful and enjoy the finished product! Hang it up in a scared place where you will see it daily. The bedroom is a great place, as you can connect with your board before going to sleep and upon waking. Then allow your dreams to manifest into reality!
