Money: Conduit of Energy?

It is my understanding of the monetary system that the only way more money enters into the marketplace is that if it is printed and thus "lent" from the Federal Banks.  And every dollar that is borrowed comes with debt that is to be paid.  So then with each passing generation, if there is more money out in the system (economic growth), there is inevitably more debt.  And that is why the debt keeps expanding.  As the economy grows, the debt grows. The reason for this post is not to make excuses for acquiring debt.  Rather, I am trying to conceptualize the whole monetary system and how it relates to the Earth on an energetic level. 

In a comment I left on another blog (http://grantdwalker.zaadz.com/blog/2007/6/encourage_a_third_world_default_now) I was corrected when I said money represents energy.  It was pointed that that this was a New Age misnomer.  After further reflection, I would say that the monetary system represents a conduit of energy, in that in most energetic exchanges, it is money that passes hands. 

We live in a period where there is an abundance of energy available for all.  I think this is clear with the incredible leaps in science, technology, and consciousness that are happening all around us.  The Earth is being showered with energy!  And we are the recipients.

But the system in place cannot hold this energy.  The current conduit is not working. 

To me, it just doesn't make sense that while there is more energy available for all, the only way to make this energy available is to put the recipients into further debt! 

On the one hand, it seems we are trying to squeeze a tennis ball through a garden hose.  And even if we manage to do that, those that happen to be holding the garden hose have all the control of where the energy is directed (who gets to "borrow" the money).  And with each drop of energy they shower - their power gets stronger (increased debt).
