Faith: A Trinity in Healing?

In my Interfaith Ministry class yesterday we spoke much on the topic of faith. All of the great healers and masters speak of the importance of faith in any healing. Trusting and believing is a pre-requiste to healing.
Jesus speaks much about faith - and in our discussion we spoke of the many forms this takes. Rather than just one meaning, one of my classmates suggested perhaps that faith is a trinity. As I contemplated that I felt an opening. I offered that that trinity could be faith of the healer, that of the person being healed and the Great Mystery/Divine.
In my healing practice, I notice the shift in power when both my client and I are open and aligned with the Cosmos. Faith, then, is seen as opening that space for healing - or even holding that space for the potential for healing. As I further contemplated this it made even more sense in that even sometimes when I have worked with a client and we are both open to the magic, nothing happens. Or rather, what we focues our intent on doesn't align. And that is where the Divine steps in. Perhaps it just wasn't what was supposed to be. Perhaps there is still a lesson to be learned before that energy is shifted. Sometimes it is not up to us to understand - after all that is part of the Great Mystery.
This was a fun process - creating a new paradigm for 'faith.' I felt a tremendous shift.
Of course as I have continued to process this it has opened more perspectives, and will continue to do so. Another classmate, an older and wiser one amongst us, offered that faith doesn't even need to be present in the one being healed. Sometimes a friend can offer that. I have seen that, too, when someone brings another to see me. Sometimes the person being brought does not believe - but the friend does, and is able to hold that space.
For me thinking in these terms changed my idea a faith from a static, one dimensional notion, to a dynamic, ever moving puzzle. It requires motion and alignment and trying new things. It's never the same. But somewhere, deep inside, there is a vibration of faith. And I feel like I am closer to it. Today.
Ah, the magic of faith.
